Planned trips

Hi everyone – exciting news…

Lee has organised a trip to Oban (Scotland) during the October half term next year – we’ll be diving with Puffin Dive Centre (http://www.puffin.org.uk/) primarily the wrecks in the sound of mull, the best British diving. It is a long way but worth it. There is always somewhere to dive no matter what the weather, one of the reasons it is so popular.

They can accommodate us for the week of the 23-Oct to 27th October 2017, and have water front accommodation available and their fast ribs.

A bit of a gamble weather wise, as it is October, but there will always be diving available.  The water is warm, there will be fewer midges around and weather permitting we can pick our dive sites.

The car journey is long (approx. 380 miles), but we will not need cylinders as they are provided, allowing us to travel 3 or even 4 to a car.

Even at this time of year they operate 2 ribs that each do two runs per day, a morning run for two dives and an afternoon run for two dives. This means that if we take the morning option we can carry out shore dives later or even book on the pm trips? Night dive?

The site and accommodation is about 10 minutes from Oban and best described as comfortable. Having a range of double and twin rooms each apartment accommodates six people on a self-catering basis. Oban is close for evening meals with the option to cook or BBQ on site available.

Cost are roughly £185 per person - £100 for two days diving and £85 for 3 nights’ accommodation, this is based on based on 10 people, cheaper is we take 12, Plus travelling and food.

The plan would be to travel up Monday 23rd, dive 24th and 25th, then travel home 26th, plus option to stay on for those who want.

Many of the dives are in the 20-30m region and therefore the trip is open to those qualified to a minimum of Sports.

Please do let me know of you’re interested in joining this trip as we will need to confirm things quite quickly as they have very few free dates next year!
